Alan Dudman

Alan always dreamed of becoming a football or cricketer (or even both), but it never quite worked out. Many years plying his trade as a spinner/dashing opening batsman failed to catch anyone's eye apart from his captain's at the Old Finchleians.
His footballing career promised a great deal at one stage too, having been linked with all the top London clubs (Limelight, Ministry of Sound and Stringfellows).
However, Dudders was destined to languish in the lower reaches of the football pyramid - despite one or two unsuccessful spells playing semi-pro in the Ryman League. A tib and fib leg-break in 2008 ended any further sporting endeavours.
Journalism it was to be, after an academic career longer than Mr Chips'. His healthy stint at clubcall (the former football telephone service and website) helped him learn the tools of the trade, where he progressed to the role of european editor.
Dudman's other passion is horse racing, and from working as a presenter at Racecall, can now be heard as a regular on Timeform Radio, aswell as appearing for on-course radio at Cheltenham, Goodwood and Ascot - no doubt talking about his love of Godolphin and Vhujon.
The 'two from each section' caught his gambling eye from an early age, as does trading on the correct scores now. His best ever bet was Savo Milosevic as top scorer @ 50s for Euro 2000. His worst was backing Tina Malone for Celebrity Big Brother (in so many ways).
Alan loves a bit of Motown and Northern Soul, and refuses to listen to anything recorded after 1995.
