Peter Tchaikovsky is Aidan O'Brien's only runner at Limerick and is likely to attract plenty of interest in this 1m conditions race. But the fact of the matter is that the colt looked very much one of the stable's lesser lights as a 2-y-o and yet is likely to need to be verging on listed class to win this under a penalty. Both Duaisbhanna and Maziona can boast better form, while Apt looks reasonably promising. There is also some temperament in Peter Tchaikovsky's family and there were signs that he may not be straightforward himself on his final start last year. A win lay looks justified.

Sligo 4:15 - win and place back - BERTIES DREAM

Signs of quirkiness make Berties Dream as an appealing place bet as a win bet, but there is little doubt that the horse is well enough treated to play a major part in this 2½m handicap hurdle come what may. He left last season's form behind when sent to Britain this term, finishing fifth in a handicap hurdle at Southwell then an excellent second in a novice hurdle at Fontwell. He was 27 lengths clear of the rest when beaten just three quarters of a length by Pilgrims Lane in the latter and a reproduction of that would make him a near certainty to be placed and a strong contender to win, especially as there is little strength in depth among his rivals.

Sligo 5:15 - place back - TAKENDO

There looks like being a strong pace in the 2m handicap hurdle at Sligo, with Isabellareine, Berkerys Treasure and Stringerthestinger all likely to get on with things. The last-named is an interesting contender after an encouraging reappearance run in May, but the smart move may be to side in the place market with one of those likely to be ridden more conservatively, and Takendo fits the bill. He has come up a bit short off this mark a few times before but advertised his well-being with a fourth on the Flat recently and could be difficult to keep out of the first 3.
