"There must be no better feeling for a trainer then to try a few trips and try a few disciplines and then suddenly find one that your horse is simply unrivalled in."

There may well be a few "betting without" markets at Cheltenham this year as there are some top class horses appearing at some very skinny prices. The World Hurdle is one such race, and Big Bucks will be one such horse.

There must be no better feeling for a trainer then to try a few trips and try a few disciplines and then suddenly find one that your horse is simply unrivalled in. It's happened a lot with this race...Doumen enjoyed the feeling with Baracouda, Johnston with Inglis Drever, and now Nicholls with Big Bucks (to name but three). The main challengers in the betting this year look to be Tiday Bay and Karabak. The last named was comfortably put in his place by Big Bucks in the long walk, but may well be seen in a better light at Cheltenham. It's worth remembering though that this horse has only ever won novice hurdles and rides on the back of a big reputation. Tiday Bay is a different proposition however. If you have won money off this horse in the past then nobody should put you off backing him this March.

Howard Johnston's horse has Cheltenham form (his last piece will be of particular interest), will appreciate the ground conditions that we'll more than likely see in March and more importantly for me, he hasn't been beaten by Big bucks. There are a lot of gambles regarding backing Tiday Bay - we don't even know if he's guaranteed to stay the distance...but in a race like this, a class horse, with Cheltenham form, and unexposed as a three miler hurdler deserves his dark horse title and thus, a decent bet in the e/w markets.

At longer odds, I also wouldn't put anyone off backing Powerstation...currently available for a couple of quid at [90.0], his form in this race alone entitles him to a second glance.

Hopefully we get a good turn-out for this race as it wouldn't be unprecedented for a few trainers to run scared of the jolly old favourite...
