Galway 5:10 - Win and Place Back - Sharadi

Sharadi absolutely hacked up at Killarney last time out and a 10 lb penalty may not be enough to stop him going close again here. He has obviously had his problems, was off 2 years prior to his return in April, but he was good enough to win off mark in the 70's on the Flat in his heyday and doesn't have too many miles on the clock. He has the top-class Robbie McNamara on his back and has a great chance of at least making the frame. Piper's Knowe is not the most consistent but would have a real squeak if back to his best.

Galway 6:50 - Place Lay - Taralga

The hat-trick seeking Taralga looks well worth opposing in the feature race of the evening, the Arthur's Day Handicap. The form of both of her recent wins is questionable, she very much had the run of the race in the Ladies Derby at the Curragh and the race she won at Tipperary last time was a soft one. She has gone up a total of 32 lb since the start of June and it looks as if the handicapper has eventually caught up with her. A place lay is advised.

Galway 7:55 - Win Back - Beat The Boss

Jessica Harrington has made a good start to the week at Galway and Beat The Boss can keep her good run going. He finished third at Killarney last time despite things not really going his way, and he actually runs off a 1 lb lower mark here. He probably needs a bit further than this but the emphasis will be on stamina and he has cheekpieces on which should sharpen him up a bit. This is not a particularly strong race and Beat The Boss looks the value bet.
