Clonmel 4:10 - Win Back - Coscorrig
Coscorrig is unlikely to be much of a price but she looks a safe bet in the mares' maiden chase. Andy Lynch's charge has been plying her trade in more exalted company than this, finishing second to Dancing Tornado at Wexford and third to Citizen Vic at Leopardstown on her only two starts this season. She will be very hard to peg back around here and her form entitles her to be an odds-on shot.
Clonmel 4:45 - Win Back - Whatsabillion
Whatsabillion has yet to win a race of any description but may be able to put that right here as he looks thrown in on his hurdles form. He has been beaten under a length on his last two starts over timber, both at this track, and remains unexposed over fences having only had four starts over the larger obstacles. He has no worries with regards to trip and ground and it looks significant that Eddie Power has chosen to ride him instead of Old Shyan, another potentially well-treated horse.
Clonmel 5:15 - Win Lay - Kazal
Kazal is a very interesting runner in the Comeragh maiden chase but, whilst he wouldn't have to be anywhere near his peak to win this, he doesn't look a betting proposition. He wasn't far off the top level over hurdles, running his best race when third to Inglis Drever in the World Hurdle in 2007/8, but appeared to be on the decline when last seen. He looked anything but a natural on his previous tries over fences, falling and unseating on his only two attempts, and his fitness has to be taken on trust on his return from a lengthy absence.
