Fairyhouse 2:55 - Win Lay - West of The Border
Noel Meade's West of The Border is likely to be all the rage in the 2½m maiden hurdle following his third to Acapulco at Navan last month, but was well placed the way things developed and is no certainty to reproduce that form. It is fair to say that this isn't a strong maiden for the track but Black Alpine, Its All Hush Hush and Sea Stallion have all made the frame in similar contests and State Street would be of interest if fully wound up after his lengthy absence.
Fairyhouse 3:25 - Win Back - Will Jamie Run
Will Jamie Run has looked a completely different horse since joining this yard, winning three times over fences and making the frame on his other three starts, and is possibly thrown in off a mark of 103 here. He had an ITC mark of 118 when finishing second to Larkwing in a handicap chase at Limerick in December and is currently rated 128 over fences having beaten Chiraaz in a conditions event at Thurles last time. The fact that he hasn't run over hurdles since November 2007 isn't a cause for concern and the in-form Conor Maxwell takes the ride again.
Fairyhouse 4:25 - Win Back - Seabass
Seabass got off the mark at Punchestown last week and may well be able to follow up here in a race that isn't quite as competitive as it looks at first glance. Ted Walsh's charge has a 9 lb penalty to carry for that win but is still relatively unexposed and will be suited by the slightly longer trip. Colls Corner is sure to have his supporters but isn't the most fluent of jumpers, Got The Urge has been put up 8 lb for his Limerick win and isn't reliable, Chasers Chance looks in the grip of the handicapper and the potentially well-treated Kasimali remains badly out of sorts.
