Leopardstown 2:40 - Win Back - Roberto Goldback
Roberto Goldback was impressive when beating Apt Approach in a Grade 2 here last month and has a favourite's chance in the Dr P. J. Moriarty. Prior to that he had beaten Cousin Vinny in a maiden at Navan and there is no obvious reason why he won't confirm that form here. Weapon's Amnesty ran really well when just touched off by Pandorama over Christmas here but his jumping is still a cause for concern, Zaarito is on a retrieval mission and Oscar Looby's win at Naas came in a muddling race.
Leopardstown 2:15 - Win and Place Back - Take It Easee
Take It Easee shaped like the best horse in the race when second to Carnbridge at Gowran last time, leading going well 2 out but collared close home after a mistake at the last, and should give another good account in the 2m handicap hurdle. She has been put up 5 lb for that but remains open to improvement after just 3 runs over hurdles and this test of speed should play to her strengths. She handles heavy ground well and should suit Davy Russell's style of riding.
Leopardstown 2:45 - Win Lay - Cooldine
Cooldine is a horse I like a lot but he looks worth taking on at his current odds (around 2/1 at time of writing). He clearly wasn't right when pulled up in the Lexus here on his seasonal reappearance (subsequently reported to be coughing) but he will need to be at the very top of his game here to cope with the likes of Money Trix and Joncol. Cooldine is potentially the most realistic Cheltenham Gold Cup contender in the field but there is a chance that this might come a bit too soon for him.
