Alrasm and Richard Hills kick clear to win The Bentley Motors Handicap Stakes at Chester racecourse in May
"Although he made all at Chester, he doesn’t have to lead and I will leave it up to the jockey as to where he wants to sit through the race. There are only six runners but it looks a decent little race – I would be very hopeful he would run well though."
Michael Jarvis on Alrasm's chances at Newmarket (Saturday, 14:15)

He has got some good form this year and although he got the 12f well enough at Chester, I am not worried about dropping him back in trip. My one slight reservation ahead of (Saturday, Newmarket, 14:15) would be very fast ground as ideally he wants good ground, but as long as there is no jar in it, he should be fine. Although he made all at Chester, he doesn't have to lead and I will leave it up to the jockey as to where he wants to sit through the race. There are only six runners but it looks a decent little race - I would be very hopeful he would run well though.

I was very happy with his run at York and I think this step up to 1m (Newmarket, 16.30, Saturday) will suit him well. He ran like he needed it a bit at York, looking to blow up two furlongs out before staying on again which was encouraging. He isn't thrown in off his mark but he is a big, good-looking horse who should continue to improve.

He isn't ideally drawn over the 7f here (Haydock, 17:20, Saturday] but he won his maiden on the All Weather well and the second has gone in since. I think he is one to follow this season and if there is any rain between now and Saturday, then that would be a bonus.

He was second at Leicester on his debut and although the winner let the form down in the National Stakes, it looked a fair race at the time. Although he was beaten at odds-on, I wasn't that disappointed as he was very green and is a big horse who will continue to improve. He will be stepped up to 6f at some stage but he isn't short of speed and assuming all goes well (Newmarket, 14:55, Sunday) he will be off to Royal Ascot for the Windsor Castle Stakes.

I was very disappointed with him at Newbury as he went there having worked very well and I was hopeful he would win. He travelled well enough for the first part of the race but seemed to get very tired, which was surprising as he seemed very straight at home. He has worked well again since and hopefully he will prove that Newbury run to be all wrong.

I am delighted with him and the progress he has made since the Brocklesby. He wasn't really ready that day but he has so much class that he was able to get away with it. A lot of winners have come out of it but I am not sure it was that strong a race. This looks a good race (Beverley, 15:40, Saturday) but he has come on a load at home since then and ought to run a big race - I really like him.

Five furlongs on quick ground wouldn't be ideal for him but he is in fine form and you have to run them somewhere. If Alan's mare (Look Busy) runs her race then she would be the one we had to beat (Beverley, 16:15, Saturday) but you can't be frightened of one horse and he must have a leading chance.

He makes his debut in the maiden at Beverley (14:10, Saturday) and should run well. He is a brother to Philharmonic who was a star for us and he has done well at home. He will improve for this first run but he has worked well with some of our better two-year-olds and if it wasn't a great race, he might just get away with it first time.

She would be my best chance at Haydock (14:00, Saturday). She's very quick and we messed around trying to drop her in, but we just let her run at York last time and she was very impressive. This is a step up in class but I have always thought she was very good and she is getting plenty of weight from her rivals. I couldn't say she would win with confidence, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.
Of the others at Haydock, Cosmic Sun is likely to need this on his seasonal reappearance and I wouldn't think Dream Lodge would be good enough in Group 3 company.
