Mark Doyle

Boasting incredible writing skills and an atrocious haircut, Mark is one of the most respected and recognisable journalists in Ireland.
A desperately cowardly figure who, from a very early age, felt it best to hide behind the pen, Mark never had the bravery required to take up either sport and felt that getting beaten up for a living was not a career path he wanted to follow. Instead, he chose to write about both instead.
After graduating from DCU, he joined Setanta Sports on a work experience programme but because of his aforementioned literary brilliance - and in spite of his aforementioned disaster of a barnet - he was quickly offered a full-time position.
Four years on, he is now rugby editor for the setantasports.com website and has covered the 2005 British and Irish Lions Tour of New Zealand and the 2007 Rugby World Cup (on location in France) during his time there.
Mark also currently occupies the dual role of deputy editor and Dublin correspondent for irish-boxing.com, a hugely popular site which he played an integral part in relaunching in early 2008.
Because of his position with the site, he enjoys close links with some of the Ireland's top fighters and also Brian Peters Promotions.
Mark has long had an interest in betting and, despite being completely incapable of picking a winner on the soccer pitch - he has backed Liverpool to win the Premier League for the past decade - he has, thankfully, proven far more successful with his boxing and rugby tips and is hoping to continue his good form with Betfair.
